The Good Ol' Days
Today we gather around God's Word to pray through, praise through, and preach through a piece of scripture so that we can practice worshipping the God who never changes.
Pray through Job 29–31
Psalm 90:1-2
Lord, you have been our refuge in every generation.<br>Before the mountains were born,<br>before you gave birth to the earth and the world,<br>from eternity to eternity, you are God.
<strong>"God, I thank You for your faithfulness in..."</strong><br>(time in the past, time in the present, time in the future)
Praise through Job 29–31
It Really Is Amazing Grace
How precious did that grace appear / The hour I first believed
Why we sing it We sing because grace reached every generation, and the same grace still reaches us today.
He Wears A Crown
Through Earth and Heaven, let it resound / He bore a cross, now He wears a crown
Why we sing it <br>We sing because Jesus reigns over every season, and He is worthy of our praise.
Same God
I'm calling on the God of Jacob / Whose love endures through generations<br>You were a Savior then, You are a Savior Now / You are the same God
Why we sing it <br>We sing because the God of Jacob, Moses, and Job is the same God we call on now.
Turn over for the message & this week’s next steps.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8 CSB
Preach through Job 29–31
Suffering Reality: The book of Job takes us from WHY to WHO, but in hard seasons we look at WHEN
We tell ourselves things were different when…
- Times were simpler – 29:2-6, 18-20
- People were godlier – 29:7-11, 21-25
- Temptations were easier – 31:1, 9, 13, 24-28
Enduring Truth: Every generation has been hard, and every generation has needed the same Savior – 31:15, 35
Practice Job 29–31
Why we sing it
