Permission to Fall Apart

Job 3 Surprise September 20, 2026

Today we gather around God's Word to pray through, praise through, and preach through a piece of scripture so that we can practice to bring God our honest questions.

Pray

Job 3:25-26

For the thing I feared has overtaken me, and what I dreaded has happened to me.
I cannot relax or be calm; I have no rest, for turmoil has come.

“God, why is _______ happening?”
“God, I know You are bigger than my fear of _________”

Praise

I Thank God

Because You healed my heart, You changed my name / Forever free, I'm not the same

Why we sing it Even when life is hopeless, we have a Savior who has healed us and changed us.

Who You Are

All our questions still before You / All our worship at Your feet

Why we sing it Some questions never get an answer, but our Savior is worthy of worship anyway.

It Is Well With My Soul

Whatever my lot Thou hast taught me to say / It is well, it is well with my soul

Why we sing it Whatever comes, Christ has already defeated the fear underneath it.

No Longer Slaves

I'm no longer a slave to fear / I am a child of God
Why we sing it We leave knowing God calls us sons and daughters, has defeated our fear, and is deserving of all our praise.

Turn over for the message & this week’s next steps.

For the thing I feared has overtaken me, and what I dreaded has happened to me. I cannot relax or be calm; I have no rest, for turmoil has come.

- Why am I here? – v. 20-24

Enduring Truth: "Some questions never get an answer, but the fear underneath them already got a Savior" – v. 25-26, Hebrews 2:14-15
